Virgin Active Padel Club is thrilled to announce the opening of its first in-gym padel facility in Gauteng – at the iconic Old Edwardian Society (Old Eds) sports club in Houghton, Johannesburg.

 

Virgin Active Padel Club: Old Eds features four premium Adidas padel courts, with a tournament level runoff area on all courts, ensuring a high-quality experience for players.

 

Like all Virgin Active Padel Clubs, the Old Eds facility is open to the public.  Both Virgin Active and non-Virgin Active members have the convenience of using the Playtomic booking app to reserve courts. Players will also be able to purchase or rent padel merchandise, such as rackets, balls, clothing, shoes, accessories, and more, from the top-notch padel pro shop located next to the courts.

 

All players will be able to make use of the change rooms as well as free secure parking. Players can also enjoy delicious food and drinks from the Crown Room – the brand new restaurant set over 2 floors overlooking the padel courts. Kids will be able to enjoy the fantastic jungle gym situated right next to the padel courts and restaurant.

 

For those looking to enhance their skills, coaches will be available, including Head Coach and A1 player, Adam van Harte. The club will also host social events, leagues, and tournaments, creating a vibrant and engaged padel community.

 

The new facility brings to 12 the number of Virgin Active Padel Clubs in South Africa. These include  Huddle Park, Randpark, Groenkloof, Ormonde, Durbanville, The Glen, Green Point, Lourensford, PE, Gateway and The EPICENTRE (South Africa’s first multi-court indoor arena). Several more “in-gym” padel clubs are also on their way at Virgin Active Health Clubs in Centurion, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pietermaritzburg and other venues around South Africa.
